FFL Transfer Process

Follow these simple steps to complete your firearm transfer

Purchase the Firearm

Buy your firearm from an online retailer or out-of-state dealer, ensuring you meet all legal eligibility requirements.

Select Havoctech as Your FFL

Provide the seller with Havoctech's FFL details and have them contact ffl@havoctech.com. The firearm will be shipped to 1211 Windsor Cir, Brandon, FL 33510-2928.

Notify Havoctech

Inform Havoctech via email, text, or phone (813) 786-8424 with your details and firearm information.

Firearm Arrival

Havoctech logs the firearm and notifies you within 24-72 hours. Our flexible scheduling and extended hours allow convenient appointment times.

Paperwork and Background Check

Visit Havoctech, complete ATF Form 4473, and undergo a NICS background check. Bring required ID; out-of-state IDs need PCS orders and lease/property tax bill.

Waiting Period (Hillsborough County)

In Hillsborough County, there is a mandatory 5-day waiting period, which shall be five days excluding weekends and legal holidays, between the hour of sale and the hour of delivery of any firearm.

Except as provided in Sections 36-85 and 36-86, no seller shall deliver any firearm to any person that is not a licensed firearm dealer, importer, or manufacturer and no buyer that is not a licensed firearm dealer, importer, or manufacturer shall take delivery of any firearm unless 120 hours have elapsed between the time of sale and the time of delivery of the firearm.

Pay Fee

Pay the $35 transfer fee when you fill out the form for the background check.

Take Possession

After all approvals and the waiting period, take possession of your firearm.

Purchase Confirmation

You provide a receipt of purchase from the seller, confirming the purchase date as January 6, 2025. This receipt establishes the start of the waiting period.

Background Check

You complete the NICS background check on January 6, 2025, during your visit to Havoctech.

Waiting Period Calculation

The 5-day waiting period, excluding weekends, covers: January 7, 8, 9, 10, and 13, 2025.

Pickup Eligibility

Assuming the background check is approved, the earliest you can pick up the firearm is Monday, January 13, 2025.
